Rebirth Ritual is written on the east side of Detroit by two people who make things with their hands and then put them on the internet. There is no content team. There is a kitchen table, a hundred silicone molds, and a laptop balanced on a stack of shipping boxes.

Why this site exists

A front door, not a checkout.

For a long time everything Courtney made lived on a product page. A skull candle would get a title, a price, four photos and a paragraph — and the actual thing worth saying, the reason someone lights a candle on a Tuesday in February, had nowhere to go. It doesn't fit in a product description. It certainly doesn't fit in an Etsy listing.

So Rebirth Ritual is where it goes. This site sells nothing. There is no cart on any page and there never will be. It is the place where the writing lives: what to do with a Michigan January, how to build an altar in a rented flat, what the flame is telling you, what it's actually like to pour a hundred skulls at two in the morning.

Read something. Try something. If it sends you toward a candle or a jar of stardust, the doors are right there.

When a piece of writing does point at a product, it points out — to kismetcandles.com or kismetglitter.com, both of which are Courtney's, both of which ship from Detroit. That's the whole business model of this page: be genuinely useful, be honest about who makes the thing, and keep the door propped open.

Courtney pours every skull herself, mixes every glitter shade herself, and has opinions about wax temperature that she will share whether or not you asked. She learned the old languages first — herbs that carry memory, crystals that hum, fire that speaks in the tongue of renewal — and then spent years turning them into things people can hold.

Forty-two named skulls across five fates. Twenty-two glitter shades and counting. A UV line that only reveals itself under a blacklight. If you have bought something from either shop, it passed through her hands on a table in Detroit, and she probably remembers which one it was.

Builder · the other half

Brandon builds the three sites, runs the marketing, keeps the analytics honest, and writes most of what you read here. He is the reason there are UTM tags on every outbound link and the reason none of the pages weigh more than a photograph.

Rebirth Ritual was his answer to a question the two of them kept circling for a year: what if the writing had somewhere to live that wasn't a product page? What if the thing that brought people in was the ritual, and the candle was just how you take part in it?

Everything on this site is hand-built — no page builder, no template, no stock photography. The candle in the header is drawn in SVG, and its flame breathes at roughly the rate of a calm person sitting still.

How we work

Four rules we actually keep.

  • Ritual, not product. Nobody needs another candle. People need a reason to stop for four minutes. We write the reason first; the candle is the vessel.
  • Small enough to do. If a ritual needs a shopping trip, a free Saturday or an altar cloth, it isn't a ritual, it's a project. Everything here fits into a real week.
  • Made by a person, in a place. Detroit, Michigan. A kitchen table. One pair of hands. We say so, because it's the difference between this and a dropshipper with a moon logo.
  • Say what it costs. Skull candles start at $8. Glitter starts at $12. We link out with tags on the link so we know what worked, and we don't pretend the shops aren't ours.
